What Is Laser Hair Removal?

Laser hair removal is a laser treatment that employs targeted light energy to heat hair follicles beneath the skin’s surface, ultimately breaking down the follicle and inhibiting hair growth. This FDA-approved procedure is safe, efficient, and designed for most skin types.

What Can Laser Hair Removal Treat?

Laser hair removal is a versatile treatment developed to address unwanted hair on various areas of the body, including the face, underarms, arms, legs, bikini line, back, and chest. Just about anywhere unwanted hair grows is fair game for this device.

How Much Does Laser Hair Removal Cost?

The cost of a laser hair removal session depends on multiple factors, such as the size of the area being treated and the number of sessions required. We will discuss these details with you during your consultation, when we can go over pricing options with you in detail, address any concerns, and answer any questions you may have.

What Is the Sood Center Laser Hair Removal Experience?

Starting with your initial consultation, our team will assess your skin type, hair type, and any underlying concerns to determine the most effective course of action for your personalized treatment.

Laser hair removal at Sood Center utilizes state-of-the-art technology to rapidly heat pigmented cells in the targeted hair follicles, thereby disrupting the growth cycle and rendering the follicle incapable of producing new hair. Some people have said the treatment feels a bit like their skin is being snapped by a rubber band. In other words, the sessions are a little uncomfortable, but patients tend to manage them just fine.

After a session, you’ll notice a reduction in hair thickness and growth. Keep in mind that six to eight treatments are typically necessary to see sustained, satisfactory results, since hair growth occurs in cycles, and not all hair follicles are active at the same time.

What Happens After a Laser Hair Removal Session?

You may experience mild redness and swelling, akin to a sunburn, post-treatment. This usually fades within a few hours to a couple of days. We recommend applying a soothing aloe gel and avoiding direct sun exposure for the first few weeks following treatment. Consistent use of sunscreen is crucial for preventing skin damage and pigmentation changes.
You will also likely notice hairs falling out from the treated follicles. This is a normal part of the process. Any new hairs that may eventually grow back should be lighter in color and finer in texture.

How Many Laser Hair Removal Treatments Will I Need?

While everyone’s hair growth cycle is unique, we generally recommend six to eight treatments spaced four to six weeks apart for optimal results. Some people may require more or fewer sessions, depending on factors such as hair type, skin type, and the area or areas being treated.

How Long Do Laser Hair Removal Results Last?

Laser hair removal results are generally long-lasting. While the treatment significantly reduces hair growth, some maintenance sessions may be required over time to retain a smooth, hair-free appearance.

Is Laser Hair Removal Suitable for Everyone?

Though laser hair removal is suitable for most skin types, certain factors—such as skin sensitivity and hair color—may affect the efficacy of the treatment. During your consultation, our team will evaluate your skin and hair type to determine if this is the best approach for you.
